about

Even though Apotheosis was written on a 5 string fretless bass - after all the other remixes were finished I pulled out my 4 string acoustic resonator bass with really crappy action and wondered if I could do a version of Apotheosis on it.

Short answer - of course.

This version is in the "spirit of" Apotheosis. It sounds like it belongs to the same family, but it's probably the younger hippy brother that's always camping and getting high.

It's the kind of casual let the hair down version I might play If I were hanging with peeps around the fire pit with brews flowing. I didn't stress on the performance or do a million takes. Once I got a basic arrangement memorized I recorded it twice. First time totally sucked. The next day - boom - that's the one. And here it is.

It's adapted to the instrument, so major parts of the original composition had to be left out while a few new parts were created. I hope you enjoy this final view of Apotheosis.

ALL sale proceeds from APOTHEOSIS : DEVIATIONS will be donated to Music In Schools Today - a San Francisco Bay Area charity helping fund music education in schools. Good cause.
